The Big Texan Steak Ranch® 72oz Steak Challenge

The legendary Big Texan 72oz Steak Challenge is making its way to Rolla on June 21 as part of the Main Street of America Centennial Caravan celebrating the 100th anniversary of historic U.S. Route 66 Centennial! The event will take place in the downtown festival lots and will give locals and visitors the chance to experience one of America’s most iconic food challenges right here in Rolla!

Partnering with GoRoute66.com and the Centennial Caravan, the Big Texan Steak Ranch is taking its world-famous steak challenge on the road throughout June, bringing the excitement of Route 66 to communities across the Mother Road. The traveling event will also highlight the history, culture, and stories of Route 66 through interviews, historical features, and live streaming events along the route.

Known around the country, the 72oz Steak Challenge dares contestants to finish a massive four-and-a-half-pound steak, baked potato, shrimp, side salad, and roll in under one hour. Those who complete the challenge earn bragging rights and a free meal. For the first time, Route 66 communities like Rolla will have the opportunity to watch the challenge live and cheer on competitors in person.
