American Solar Car Challenge

Experience the future of transportation as the 2026 American Solar Challenge rolls into Rolla on July 28, at Missouri S&T. The American Solar Challenge is a cross-country collegiate competition featuring student-designed, solar-powered vehicles traveling more than 1,500 miles from Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Amarillo, Texas. Teams will stop in Rolla as an official checkpoint on July 28, giving visitors the opportunity to see these innovative vehicles up close and meet the students behind them. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will take place in the parking lot surrounding the Gale Bullman Building. Spectator parking will be available in Parking Lot E, located directly across U.S. Highway 63 from the event site. Come cheer on the teams and witness cutting-edge engineering in action as they make their way along Historic Route 66.
