Ozark Actors Theatre is excited to welcome Missoula Children’s Theatre. Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the world’s largest touring children’s theater, is seeking area children interested in taking part in a weeklong theater workshop led by a team of two professional actors/directors. The workshop will culminate with two live performances of “Rumpelstiltskin” at the Cedar Street Playhouse, 701. Cedar St.
Rumpelstiltskin is part of the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s unique international touring project, and is presented October 17-22 by Ozark Actors Theatre. A group audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of Rumpelstiltskin on Monday, October 17, from 4-6pm at the Cedar Street Playhouse. Approximately 50-60 roles are available for local students, kindergarten through 12th grade. Among the roles to be cast are Rumpelstiltskin, Queen Beatrice, Clara, a Jester, King Whatsat, Villagers, Gnomes, Wizards, Knights and Bees. No preparation is necessary for the audition. All those auditioning should arrive by 4pm and plan to stay for the full two hours. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week, and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 4p.m. to 8:30p.m. each day. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition. Although not all cast members will be needed at every rehearsal session, those auditioning should have a clear schedule for the entire week and if cast, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role and both performances. Cast members scheduled for a full 4.5 hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack lunch or snack.
Rumpelstiltskin performances are Saturday, October 22nd at 3p.m. and 5:30p.m., at the Cedar Street Playhouse, 701 N. Cedar St. in Rolla. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children & students and are for sale now. For full information and tickets visit www.OzarkActorsTheatre.org.
