Join the Rolla Public Library for their Needle Felt for Beginners class on April 18. The class will include fundamental needle felting techniques, materials required for each project, and you’ll get to take home a freshly felted animal.

Recommended Age: Adults (Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult at ALL TIMES)

Roots & Relics, Kaleidoscope Discovery Center Annual Fundraiser

Roots & Relics is the Kaleidoscope Discovery Center’s annual signature fundraiser supporting hands-on STEAM education for children and teens across mid-Missouri. The Kaleidoscope provides interactive exhibits, robotics teams, engineering competitions, environmental science workshops, chess and strategy programs, summer camps, Teen Science Café events, and Missouri’s statewide Future City® competition. Serving more than 2,500 students annually, the Center connects youth with real-world problem solving and career pathways in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

Proceeds from Roots & Relics directly fund student scholarships, helping families afford camps, robotics participation, field trips, and afterschool programs. In a rural region where enrichment opportunities can be limited, these scholarships ensure that access to high-quality STEM experiences is based on curiosity—not income.

By supporting Roots & Relics, donors strengthen the local workforce pipeline, expand educational equity, and help the next generation of innovators imagine, explore, and create their future.

Phelps County Historical Society – Spring Meeting

Join us as we open a new season at the Phelps County Historical Society on April 19 starting at 1 pm. Our Spring Meeting will be a picnic lunch (bring your own) out at the beautiful Maramec Spring Park. We will be meeting at the Warren Shelter right by the river.

Our speaker of the afternoon will be Kendra Swee will be sharing about the history of the park as the Iron Works celebrate their 200th anniversary!
